The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Reza wants to stand and escape but instead Cruz has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Cruz throws a big right hand that misses.
Reza controls Cruz momentarily but Cruz frees himself.
Cruz slips nicely into half guard.
Reza keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Cruz throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reza is looking for a sweep. Cruz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
