Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cruz Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tavarex Master (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cruz Frederick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tavarex Master!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frederick has closed the distance and engaged Master in a clinch.
Master unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Frederick drags the fight down to the ground.
Frederick has Master pulled in close to control his posture.
Frederick is looking to stand up but Master isn't so interested in that idea.
Master preventing the sweep.
Frederick controls Master momentarily but Master frees himself.
Master wants to stand but Frederick has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Master trying to control but Frederick is working from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Frederick tries to keep at a distance but Master has taken the fight into the clinch.

The referee calls for Master to work.
Frederick working hard to break the clinch.
Frederick tries to pull guard but Master won't allow it.

Master breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Frederick drives through with a takedown into guard.
Frederick works over Master with some ground and pound from guard.

Master had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Frederick defends it easily.

Master working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frederick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frederick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Master wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frederick postures up in Master's guard and throws a big left but Master blocks it.
Frederick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Master works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Master looking to hit a scissor sweep but Frederick is one step ahead there.
Master has momentary wrist control but Frederick slips an elbow through the middle.
Master looking to control.
Frederick working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Frederick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Master wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Frederick is now in half guard.

Frederick is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Frederick lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Frederick lands a nice short elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Master is looking to escape.
Master is trying to get back to full guard.
Frederick is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Frederick landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Frederick working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Master tries to roll over but Frederick keeps him under control.

Frederick seems to be looking for submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Frederick working over Master with some ground and pound. Master looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cruz Frederick dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Frederick pushes Master up against the cage in a clinch.
Frederick wants to break free but Master has control.

Frederick breaks the clinch.

Frederick gets a takedown into half guard.

Master kicks Frederick off and gets back to his feet.
Frederick stuffs the takedown.
Frederick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Master pinned against the cage. Master gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Master should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Master tries to bum rush Frederick with a series of wild strikes but Frederick uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Master shoots in but no luck this time.
Master misses with a takedown
and Frederick counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Cruz Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tavarex Master.
Master is breathing heavily.
Master with a lazy takedown attempt
and Frederick counters with a two punch combo.
Frederick stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Frederick wants it to stay on the feet.

Frederick forces Master back against the cage and clinches.
Frederick is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Master to keep the fight standing.

Frederick pulls guard effortlessly.
Master won't allow Frederick to sweep him here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Frederick holds on and takes a little breather.
Frederick wants to get back to his feet but Master is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frederick bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Master's guard.

Frederick landing some decent shots from guard.
Frederick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Master can do to turn this around?

Master looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Frederick has picked Master up and slammed him! Master can't keep hold of the triangle and Frederick manages to pass to side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Frederick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Frederick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Frederick cracks Master with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Frederick is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Master is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Frederick tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Frederick creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Master tries to buck Frederick off but Frederick is having none of it.
Frederick working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Master wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Frederick has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Master's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Master is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Frederick!
