PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anselmo Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stone Flail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flail has chosen Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself by Ice Cube as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anselmo Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Stone Flail!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flail misses with a jab, cross combination.
Flail leaves Harris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Harris lands with a cross.
Harris misses with a takedown attempt - Flail sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A little jabbing left from Flail on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Flail moves away from the strike by Harris.
Harris throws a chopping leg kick but Flail manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
We've been hearing reports that Harris has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Flail connects with a high kick.
Flail buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Flail lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Flail.
Stone Flail seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Harris darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Harris avoids a punch combination nicely.

Flail throws a head kick but Harris moves out of range.

Harris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Flail sprawls well. Flail wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.

and Flail takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Harris looks to land a left hand but Flail moved out of range nicely.

Harris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Flail throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Harris escapes and throws Flail's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Flail is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flail keeps working.
Flail is trying to control Harris's posture but Harris avoids it.
Harris controls the position from side control.

Flail is not content to let Harris control the position.
Harris is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Flail is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Flail is trying to improve his position.

Harris just content to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Stone Flail will probably get the nod.
That's time! Harris's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Flail slaps away a takedown attempt from Harris, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Harris shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Flail manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flail swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Flail has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Harris has passed into side control.

Harris is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Flail is looking to regain half guard here but Harris keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flail keeps working.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Harris is looking to take a break and control but Flail is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Flail moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nice sprawl there from Flail as Harris shoots in.
As Harris backs off Flail throws a huge counter combo but Harris manages to avoid it all.
A head kick from Flail lands but Harris takes it in his stride.

Flail throws the kick towards the body but Harris avoids it.
Harris dives in for a single leg takedown but Flail sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Flail throws a right hand that Harris ducks under and follows up with a left that Harris also avoids with ease.
Harris appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A combination from Flail does no damage.
Flail looks to score with a jab to the body but Harris is just out of range.
Harris is looking to counter punch.
Harris lands with an uppercut that bounces Flail off the cage and back into range.


It looks like Stone Flail has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Harris clinches up with Flail and pushes him back against the cage.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Harris.
Harris avoids a wild elbow strike from Flail.
Flail lands with a short shot to the head.

Harris successfully pulls guard.
Harris seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Flail lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flail swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stone Flail showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Flail pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Harris shoots for a double leg takedown but Flail sprawls well. He's pushed Harris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Flail displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harris.
Flail swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Flail tries a head kick but it misses.
Harris stalks Flail and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Flail's face. Flail staggers backwards, shaken.
Flail lets loose with a powerful body kick. Harris will feel that in the morning.
Flail goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Harris chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Flail can pounce on him.
Flail lands with a slapping head kick.
Stone Flail seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Flail scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Flail throws a sloppy head kick and Harris moves out of range easily.
Flail misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Harris shoots in but no luck this time.

Flail escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Harris scores with a sloppy right hand. Flail should have avoided that one.
Flail has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Harris shoots in looking for a takedown. Flail tries to sprawl out of it but Harris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flail manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Flail swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Harris displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Flail throws out the jab.
Flail catches Harris with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Harris.
Harris looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Flail is fending him off so far but Harris persists. Nope, Flail circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Flail lands a head kick. Harris smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Flail connects with a nice looking jab.
Harris darts in looking for a takedown but Flail gets double underhooks and turns Harris into the cage.

Harris takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Flail has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Harris takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


Harris is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Flail drops Harris with a huge uppercut! Harris drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Flail is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stone Flail!
Stone Flail got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
