Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nycky Downtime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Downtime has chosen Bring It as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 36 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 36 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Nycky Downtime!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downtime tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hunt was well out of range. Poor timing from Downtime.
Hunt throws a series of punches but Downtime moves out of range.
Downtime takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A low kick from Hunt is predictable there
and Downtime counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Downtime misses with a looping right.
Nice sprawl there from Downtime as Hunt shoots in.
Hunt misses with a straight right.
Downtime lands a body shot.
Downtime scores with a kick to the midsection.
Downtime just misses with a punch to the body.
Hunt clobbers Downtime with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Nice defenses there by Downtime.
Downtime feints a counter leg kick.
Hunt missing with a left hand there. Downtime was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Downtime avoids the head kick by Hunt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A little jabbing left from Downtime on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hunt throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Downtime's head.
Hunt moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hunt is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Downtime tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Downtime throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Downtime throws a chopping leg kick but Hunt manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A jab from Hunt does it's job there.
Hunt checks the leg kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Hunt. That snapped Downtime's head back.
Hunt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hunt jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hunt.
Hunt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Downtime checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Despite the aggression on Downtime's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Hunt lands an overhand right.
Downtime turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Downtime has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hunt finds it's way round the side to connect with Downtime's head.
Downtime is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hunt.

Hunt throws a quick inside leg kick.
Tony Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunt getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


Downtime is rocked!
Hunt is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hunt is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Downtime is still on wobbly legs! Can Hunt finish him?
Hunt throws a lazy uppercut
and Downtime counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Downtime seems to have recovered his senses.
Hunt pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Downtime back to the cage. Hunt follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Downtime unleashes a big counter combination but Hunt bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Hunt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Downtime throws a shot from downtown. Hunt moves away and avoids it.

and Downtime counters by clinching up.
Downtime tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hunt just stands there and leans against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A head punch on the inside from Downtime fails to land.
Downtime tries for a takedown. No joy.

Downtime is trying to trip Hunt. He has hold of a leg but Hunt is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Downtime persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hunt is on top in guard.

Hunt connects with a couple of short punches.
Hunt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hunt throws a strike but Downtime rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Downtime postures up.
Downtime wants to stand but Hunt has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hunt pulls Downtime in to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Downtime working some strikes from top position.
Downtime throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hunt trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Hunt uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Downtime.
Downtime throws a low kick, looking for Hunt's leg but Hunt calmly moves out of range.
Hunt throwing a counter right hand but Downtime manages to avoid it.
Downtime avoids the head kick by Hunt.
A nice side step and Downtime releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Hunt misses with a straight right.
Downtime throws out a counter right but Hunt avoids it with no problem.

Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Downtime as he jumps to the side.

It looks like Tony Hunt has been cut.

Hunt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Downtime can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunt throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hunt working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hunt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hunt postures up in Downtime's guard and throws a big left but Downtime blocks it.

Hunt is looking to work some ground and pound but Downtime has wrist control.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Downtime holds on and takes a little breather.

Downtime utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hunt walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Downtime moves out of range as Hunt strikes.
Hunt shoots in looking for a takedown but Downtime manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hunt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hunt shoots for a takedown but Downtime saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hunt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hunt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Downtime sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hunt somewhat.
Downtime is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Downtime connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Downtime swings for the body but Hunt moves out of range.
Nycky Downtime has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hunt lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Hunt feints and as Downtime raises his hands in defense, Hunt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hunt wants to control from the top but Downtime keeps moving.
Hunt won't allow Downtime to get back to his feet.

Downtime working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Downtime is tightening it up a little... Hunt has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hunt reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hunt taps out! Nice BJJ there by Downtime!
