Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Bozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Wightman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason Bozzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Wightman!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wightman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bozzi to the mat! Bozzi manages to get full guard.
Bozzi wants to sweep but no luck.
Bozzi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wightman tries to roll over but Bozzi keeps him under control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wightman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Bozzi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bozzi is staying active underneath Wightman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Wightman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Bozzi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Wightman misses with a looping right.
Bozzi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wightman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wightman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bozzi drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wightman sprawls and moves away.
Nice shot lands for Bozzi.
A slow jab from Wightman misses its intended target.

Wightman scores with a nice right hand.
Bozzi throws a head kick that misses.
And Wightman tries to counter it with a takedown but Bozzi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Wightman throws an overhand right that lands on Bozzi's shoulder, as Bozzi tries to avoid the shot.
Wightman slips a straight right by Bozzi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wightman swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bozzi.
Wightman feints and then cracks Bozzi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bozzi down.
Jason Bozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bozzi defending well as Wightman loads up on a big left hand.
Bozzi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Wightman throws a jab when Bozzi was well out of range.

Wightman dips to his left and cracks Bozzi with an uppercut!

Wightman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bozzi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bozzi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bozzi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wightman manages to get himself to full guard.

Wightman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jason Bozzi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wightman tries to hold on but Bozzi pushes him away.
Bozzi throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Bozzi lands a big shot there that rocks Wightman but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Wightman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wightman wants to hold on but Bozzi pushes him away.
Wightman is still in real trouble! Can Bozzi finish him?
Bozzi cracks Wightman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wightman is breathing heavily.
Bozzi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Wightman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bozzi scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Bozzi connects with a bit shot that sees Wightman covering up! More strikes from Bozzi and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Bozzi is our winner by TKO!
