Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Gurel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bowman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thousand foot krutch - War of change kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Gurel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Casey Bowman!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bowman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gurel. That did some damage!
Bowman moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Gurel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Bowman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gurel misses with a leg kick.
Gurel throws a leg kick but Bowman sees it coming and moves out of range.

Bowman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nice body punch from Bowman.
Bowman gets underhooks to prevent Gurel's takedown attempt.
Gurel wants a takedown but no success here.
Gurel tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Gurel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bowman breaks the clinch.

Bowman closes the distance and pushes Gurel back into the ropes.
A short body shot lands from Bowman as the two fighters clinch.
Bowman lands a nice shot to the body.
Gurel misses with an elbow strike.
Bowman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gurel backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bowman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bowman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Gurel walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bowman.
Gurel is breathing heavily.
Gurel dives in for a single leg takedown but Bowman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Bowman keeps Gurel at a distance using the push kick.

Bowman clinches.
Bowman works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Bowman breaks the clinch.

Gurel tries to sprawl but Bowman drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Gurel is rocked!
Still in half guard, Bowman seems content to control.
Oh Gurel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bowman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Gurel to get to his feet.
Bowman plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Gurel to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Gurel just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Casey Bowman!

After the fight, Casey Bowman was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Jake Gurel spoke after the fight, saying 'You win some, you lose some. Today I lost. Tomorrow I will win. Its that simple'.
