Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky McColgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Zeller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McColgan's entrance music is The Gael. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeller bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
McColgan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Rocky McColgan has been cut.
Zeller misses with a low kick.
McColgan moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Zeller throws a hook but McColgan blocks it.
McColgan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and McColgan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zeller has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Zeller drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Zeller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McColgan swivels and escapes.
Zeller lands a nice looking kick to the body. McColgan takes a step back to recover.
Zeller tries to score with a low kick but McColgan moves his leg out of the way.

Zeller throws a low kick but it's checked well by McColgan.

McColgan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Zeller uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Zeller misses with a looping left.
Rocky McColgan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McColgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zeller moves away.
Zeller's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McColgan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Zeller scrambles back to his feet.
Zeller tries to work over McColgan's front leg with a kick but McColgan checks it.
A decent looking cross lands there for McColgan.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zeller dives in for a single leg takedown but McColgan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McColgan gets cracked there but stands up to it.

McColgan connects with a nice looking jab.
McColgan throws a leg kick
and Zeller counters with a body kick.
McColgan throws a leg kick but Zeller sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Zeller throws out a leg kick but McColgan moves out of range and Zeller only half commits.
Zeller buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
McColgan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McColgan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
And Zeller responds with a good body kick, but McColgan manages to step out the way in time.
McColgan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Zeller has McColgan up against the cage in a clinch.
Zeller stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

McColgan presses Zeller against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A body shot lands from McColgan.
Zeller makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Zeller tries to throw a body punch but McColgan avoids it by throwing Zeller back against the cage.
Zeller lands a body punch in the clinch.
McColgan lands a hook to the side of the head.
McColgan lands with a left to the head.
McColgan misses with a body punch.
McColgan digs a right hand into Zeller's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Zeller's gas tank.
Zeller throws a punch but it's blocked by McColgan.
McColgan blocks an uppercut.

Zeller breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McColgan blocks a head kick by Zeller.

Zeller moves out of range of the body kick.
Zeller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zeller takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

McColgan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Zeller.
Zeller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A kick lands to the mid section there for McColgan.
Zeller looks winded!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McColgan is defended easily by Zeller.
Zeller tries to clinch up.
McColgan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
McColgan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Zeller takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Cody Zeller has been cut.
McColgan looking to land some kicks to the body here.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McColgan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

McColgan listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Zeller takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rocky McColgan will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zeller wants to land a leg kick but McColgan is out of range.

McColgan tries a body shot but Zeller blocks it.
McColgan tries to work over Zeller's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Zeller misses with a punch to the body.

Zeller lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

McColgan lands a right hand.

Zeller is rocked!
Zeller has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Zeller breaks from the clinch.
The crowd cheers as McColgan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Zeller doesn't seem phased though.
Zeller is still on wobbly legs! Can McColgan finish him?
McColgan cracks Zeller with a left hook right on the temple and Zeller goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! McColgan lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Zeller is OK!

A relieved looking Rocky McColgan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
