Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Obuhov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Charleston!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charleston wants to clinch up but Obuhov keeps it at a distance.

Obuhov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Charleston is pushing Obuhov's head away, looking to escape. Obuhov manages to hold on to the position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Charleston can do anything to dispel that myth.

Obuhov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Charleston, who protects the arm well.

Obuhov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Charleston will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Obuhov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Charleston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Obuhov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Charleston is trying to buck Obuhov off.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Obuhov swings around for an armbar but Charleston sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Obuhov's guard.

Obuhov pushes a forearm under Charleston's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Charleston is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Anton Obuhov!
