Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Staph Aureus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Winslow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winslow has chosen KJ-52 - Let's go as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winslow with a poor takedown
and Aureus counters with a three punch combo that has Winslow backing up. Winslow nods at Aureus to acknowledge the strikes.
Aureus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Winslow.
Aureus throws a sloppy head kick and Winslow moves out of range easily.
Winslow shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Aureus defends it nicely.
Staph Aureus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Winslow.

Winslow decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Aureus manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Winslow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aureus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Winslow lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Aureus wants to get back to his feet but Winslow is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Winslow stands up over Aureus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

It looks like Staph Aureus has been cut.
Winslow trying to control the position from guard on top but Aureus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Winslow drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Aureus manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Winslow has Aureus in his guard.

Our spies down at at Bloodsport Gym 16 Elites inform us that Winslow has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winslow isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Aureus stacks Winslow on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Aureus!

Aureus wants to work for an arm triangle but Winslow is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Aureus takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Aureus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Aureus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Aureus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Winslow is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Aureus pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Aureus lands a shot to the body.
Winslow drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aureus gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Shane Winslow has been cut.
Aureus is pressed up against the cage. Winslow has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aureus down to the mat. Aureus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Aureus gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Winslow to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Staph Aureus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Aureus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Winslow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aureus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Aureus is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Winslow sees it coming and defends easily.

Winslow has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Aureus. Oh but Winslow has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Aureus goes limp - he's gone! Winslow jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
