PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hyonjo Joung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laszlo Nemeth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nemeth has chosen Muse - Undisclosed Desires as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nemeth lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Nemeth just misses with a punch to the body.
Horrible takedown by Joung or perhaps it was just good defense by Nemeth which made him look bad.
Nemeth scores with a sloppy right hand. Joung should have avoided that one.
Joung throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nemeth lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Joung fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nemeth sprawls well initially but Joung persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Joung is trying to control the action in half guard but Nemeth is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Nemeth wants to control but Joung is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Nemeth flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Nemeth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joung. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Joung is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nemeth is just riding it out for now. Joung eventually gives up the hold.

Nemeth is controlling Joung's trapped leg to prevent Joung from advancing to side control.

Joung is tying to control. Nemeth wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Joung fails with the takedown.

Nemeth loads up on a big right hand but Joung slips the punch.
Nemeth buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Nemeth lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Joung sprawling to the canvas. Nemeth follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Joung hang on?

Nemeth seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Joung shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Joung showed some decent athleticism there.

Joung is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Nemeth has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Joung is working away from the top position though.
Nemeth keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Joung is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joung prevents Nemeth from improving his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nemeth can do anything to dispel that myth.

Joung seems to be looking for submissions.

Nemeth is looking to improve his position.
Joung uses his free foot to push down on Nemeth's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nemeth.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nemeth tries to hold on but Joung postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

You can see the frustration on Nemeth's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Joung is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Nemeth looks calm but he's in trouble here. Joung gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Nemeth is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Joung lets go of the hold and Nemeth can pop his arm back in it's socket.
