The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omar stuffs the takedown attempt from Kurniawan. Kurniawan gets slowly back to his feet.

Kurniawan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Omar on his heels. He'll look to pass Omar's guard now, I'm sure.

Omar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kurniawan defends well.

Kurniawan drops back looking for a leg! Omar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Omar manages to kick Kurniawan off! Kurniawan jumps back into Omar's guard.

Omar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kurniawan on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Omar is looking for a triangle here but Kurniawan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Omar is trying to escape the position but Kurniawan is controlling the position.

Kurniawan is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Omar is trying to escape and Kurniawan transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Omar is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kurniawan! Very nice indeed!
