Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Some Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Cirkunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Some Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felipe Cirkunov!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy misses with a right hand

and Cirkunov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Guy is looking to improve his position.
Guy wants to control but Cirkunov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Guy is looking to improve his position.
Cirkunov is looking to advance position but Guy won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cirkunov seems to be working for a kimura but Guy defends the submission attempt.
Guy gets full guard.

Guy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Guy keeping moving, preventing Cirkunov from controlling successfully.
Guy wants to hit a switch here but Cirkunov passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Guy there!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Guy is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cirkunov scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Guy?
Guy is desperately trying to improve his position but Cirkunov has a good base and remains in mount.
Cirkunov is landing with some decent strikes but Guy is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Cirkunov gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Guy tries to keep at a distance but Cirkunov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cirkunov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Guy is defending well for now.
Cirkunov jumps guard but Guy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Cirkunov tries to circle away but Guy has him pinned against the cage.

Guy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cirkunov's elbow.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Guy.

Cirkunov pulls guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cirkunov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cirkunov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Guy is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cirkunov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Guy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Guy is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cirkunov escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felipe Cirkunov dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Cirkunov pushes Guy up against the cage in a clinch.
Cirkunov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cirkunov blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Guy misses with some punches.
Guy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Guy swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Cirkunov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cirkunov takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Cirkunov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cirkunov blocks a jab.

Cirkunov drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cirkunov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Guy seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Cirkunov won't allow Guy to sweep him here.
Cirkunov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Guy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cirkunov advances to half guard.

Cirkunov seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Guy has recovered full guard.
Cirkunov trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cirkunov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Cirkunov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guy keeping moving, preventing Cirkunov from controlling successfully.

Guy working for submissions but it's allowed Cirkunov to get to half guard.
Cirkunov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Guy trying to get back to full guard but Cirkunov takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Guy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Cirkunov is working for a submission of some sort.
Guy is refusing to be controlled, as Cirkunov sits in half guard.
Guy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Cirkunov is trying to control. Guy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Guy tries to get to full guard but Cirkunov has control of the leg.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cirkunov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cirkunov trying to control from half guard but Guy is working away.
Guy is looking to improve his position.
Cirkunov wants to control but Guy is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cirkunov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Guy tries to clinch but Cirkunov moves out of range.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felipe Cirkunov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Guy throws a leg kick

and Cirkunov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Guy is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cirkunov dives into side control.

Guy tries to bench press Cirkunov off him but Cirkunov keeps the position.

Cirkunov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Guy to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cirkunov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Guy.

A head punch on the inside from Cirkunov fails to land.

Cirkunov lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Cirkunov is taking a breather. Guy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cirkunov checks a low kick from Guy.
Guy misses with an uppercut.
Cirkunov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Cirkunov looking to score a takedown here. Guy is defending well but Cirkunov drives through and ends up in Guy's guard.

Cirkunov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Guy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Some Guy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Guy can't keep his opponent in guard - Cirkunov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Felipe Cirkunov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Guy is not content to let Cirkunov control the position.

Cirkunov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Guy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cirkunov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cirkunov's back!

Guy controlling well, preventing Cirkunov from escaping the position.
Cirkunov covering up well and avoiding damage.
Guy gets his hands free as Cirkunov looks to control.

Guy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Cirkunov has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Cirkunov turns into Guy and is now in his guard.

Cirkunov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cirkunov wants to control but Guy is keeping him busy.
Guy is looking for a sweep.

Felipe Cirkunov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cirkunov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
