The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Thirty Six, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thirty Six tries to close the distance and clinch but Roberts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Roberts appears to be looking for a big counter.
Thirty Six displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roberts.

and Roberts counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Roberts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Roberts connects with a nice short shot to Thirty Six's temple.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Roberts lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roberts working over Thirty Six with some ground and pound. Thirty Six looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Roberts slips a nice elbow through Thirty Six's hands, connecting with Thirty Six's forehead.
Roberts lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roberts uses his free foot to push down on Thirty Six's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Thirty Six.
