PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deair Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and go Yes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that go Yes was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Deair Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, go Yes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw throws a sloppy head kick and Yes moves out of range easily.
Shaw tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yes swivels and escapes.
Yes tries to counter with a clinch but Shaw shakes him off and moves away.
Shaw gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Yes counters with a three punch combo that has Shaw backing up. Shaw nods at Yes to acknowledge the strikes.
Shaw keeps the fight on the outside.
Yes throws a quick inside leg kick.

Shaw clinches with his opponent.
Yes is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Yes is looking to control Shaw's arms but Shaw gets an underhook and turns him. Now Yes has his back to the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw pushes off an throws an elbow but Yes leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Shaw tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Yes just stands there and leans against the cage.

Shaw throws a big counter combination but Yes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Yes dives in and scores a takedown into Shaw's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Shaw manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Shaw goes for a takedown attempt but Yes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Shaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yes pinned against the cage. Yes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Yes misses with a kick to the body
and Shaw connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yes tries to avoid it but Shaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yes to the ground. Yes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shaw shoots in and drives through. Yes sprawls well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shaw.
Shaw is breathing heavily.

Yes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Shaw pushes Yes off and gets back to his feet.

Shaw tries to clinch but Yes is having none of it.
Yes shoots in for a double leg but Shaw sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Shaw shoots in looking for a takedown but Yes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shaw's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Yes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shaw's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Deair Shaw will probably get the nod.

Shaw has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Yes has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Shaw has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
