Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bendigo Ketchal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canelo Jhonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Canelo Jhonson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bendigo Ketchal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Canelo Jhonson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jhonson shoots in and drives through. Ketchal sprawls well.
Jhonson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ketchal as he jumps to the side.
Jhonson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bendigo Ketchal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Canelo Jhonson.
Ketchal shoots and misses
and Jhonson counters with a big head kick but Ketchal shrugs it off.
Jhonson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ketchal dodges the punch combination from Jhonson.
Jhonson has his takedown stuffed

and Ketchal counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jhonson won't be happy with that.
Jhonson misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Jhonson pushes Ketchal away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ketchal gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ketchal working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Jhonson is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ketchal is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jhonson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jhonson wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ketchal cracks Jhonson with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Jhonson is trying to escape the position but Ketchal is controlling the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ketchal with a lazy takedown attempt

and Jhonson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ketchal!
Ketchal really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Jhonson goes for an armbar but Ketchal turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ketchal.
Jhonson looks gassed!
Jhonson is looking to stand up but Ketchal isn't so interested in that idea.
Ketchal working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Ketchal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ketchal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ketchal is posturing up here but Jhonson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ketchal tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ketchal has to tap! Slick submission there by Jhonson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Canelo Jhonson!
