Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Buakaw Por Pramuk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Duex!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Por Pramuk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duex pinned against the cage. Duex gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Duex pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Duex tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick from Duex lands but Por Pramuk takes it in his stride.
Por Pramuk looks for a takedown but Duex sprawls well.
Por Pramuk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Duex swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buakaw Por Pramuk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duex moves into the clinch.
Duex pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Duex moves into range and clinches up with Por Pramuk.
Por Pramuk tries to land knees in the clinch but Duex avoids the damage to the body.
Por Pramuk has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Duex avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Duex breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Duex throws a head kick that half lands.
Duex forces Por Pramuk back against the cage and clinches.
Duex pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Duex closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A knee to the head by Duex.
It looks like Buakaw Por Pramuk has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Por Pramuk takes a knee right on the jaw!
Por Pramuk is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Duex has Por Pramuk pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Por Pramuk is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Duex - that's hurt Por Pramuk badly! Oh, another knee lands and Por Pramuk is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Por Pramuk doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Frank Duex!
