Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boris Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maxwell has chosen Sonne - Rammstein as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Boris Kharitonov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ross Maxwell's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell punishes Kharitonov's body with a nice straight punch.
Kharitonov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Maxwell lands a really nice looking cross but Kharitonov seems unphased.

It looks like Boris Kharitonov has been cut.
Maxwell lands a nice shot to the body.
Kharitonov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kharitonov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Maxwell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kharitonov to the ground. Maxwell is now in Kharitonov's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Maxwell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kharitonov wants to sweep here but Maxwell controlling him for the moment.

Maxwell has gone for a leg lock! Kharitonov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maxwell's guard.

Kharitonov postures up in Maxwell's guard and throws a big left but Maxwell blocks it.

Maxwell throws a right and a left that Kharitonov avoids nicely.
Maxwell tries to score with a low kick but Kharitonov moves his leg out of the way.
It looked like Kharitonov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kharitonov sizes up Maxwell with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kharitonov connects with a right hand. Maxwell shakes it off.

It looks like Ross Maxwell has been cut.
Maxwell misses with a looping right.
Kharitonov lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Maxwell scores with a shot to the body.
Kharitonov scores with a jab. Maxwell acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Kharitonov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maxwell to score with a decent uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A slow jab from Kharitonov misses its intended target.
Kharitonov throws a hook but Maxwell blocks it.
Maxwell scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Maxwell lands a nice looking body shot.
Kharitonov defending well as Maxwell loads up on a big left hand.
It looked like Kharitonov was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Maxwell.
A slapping leg kick lands for Maxwell.
Maxwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kharitonov's waist but Kharitonov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maxwell off to one side.
Boris Kharitonov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Maxwell.
Kharitonov moves out of range as Maxwell throws a body kick.
Kharitonov fails to land with a series of punches.
Maxwell tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Maxwell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kharitonov's half guard.
Maxwell misses with a head shot. Kharitonov uses the momentum to regain guard.

Maxwell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kharitonov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Maxwell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like Maxwell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kharitonov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ross Maxwell seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Maxwell bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Kharitonov! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Kharitonov is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maxwell gets to his feet and stands over Kharitonov, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kharitonov felt that one! Maxwell unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kharitonov from any more punishment!

Ross Maxwell decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
