Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vidar Helgesson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helgesson is looking to clinch.
Gus Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Helgesson shoots in for a double leg but Spencer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Spencer misses with a hook. Helgesson ducked under it nicely.

Spencer seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

It looks like Vidar Helgesson has been cut.
Spencer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Spencer counters with a crisp right hand that drops Helgesson! Spencer lets Helgesson back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Helgesson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Spencer!
Spencer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spencer tries to get out of the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Helgesson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Helgesson seems to have recovered his senses.
Spencer has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Spencer seems a little lost for a moment, as Helgesson dominates the positioning.
Helgesson is putting a hurting on Spencer here, landing some big shots from side control.

Spencer tries to buck Helgesson off but Helgesson is having none of it.
Helgesson is trying to ground and pound but Spencer uses the momentary lack of control by Helgesson to regain half guard.

Spencer is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Helgesson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Spencer tries to roll over but Helgesson keeps him under control.

Helgesson seems to be working for a kimura but Spencer defends the submission attempt.
Still in half guard, Helgesson seems content to control.
It looks like Helgesson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Spencer is looking to improve his position.
Helgesson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Helgesson is thwarting Spencer's attempts to control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Spencer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Helgesson on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Helgesson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Spencer finds it's way round the side to connect with Helgesson's head.
Spencer throws out a loose jab but Helgesson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Helgesson throws out a counter right but Spencer avoids it with no problem.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Helgesson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Spencer is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Helgesson.
Spencer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Helgesson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Helgesson moves out of range as Spencer strikes.
Spencer connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Spencer sends Helgesson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Spencer is motioning to the referee to let Helgesson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Spencer drops Helgesson with a straight right hand, right on the button! Spencer follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gus Spencer!
