The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yama checks a low kick from Eggman.

Yama shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eggman's guard.

Eggman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Yama off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Yama shoots in and drives through. Eggman sprawls well.
Eggman bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

and Yama counters with a head kick.
A nice combination there by Eggman.

It looks like Vhin Yama has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Eggman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Yama is rocked!

Eggman rushes Yama and presses him up against the cage.
Eggman misses with a knee to the head.
Eggman is looking to break free of the clinch but Yama has double underhooks.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Eggman.
Eggman lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Yama tries to pull guard but Eggman forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Yama is trying to push Eggman away but Eggman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Eggman has Yama pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Yama manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Eggman pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Yama back to the cage. Eggman follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Eggman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Eggman counters with a series of strikes. Yama will be more careful next time no doubt.
Eggman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Eggman drops Yama with a beautiful combination! Yama stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Eggman is looking for the KO!

Yama sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dan Eggman will probably get the nod.

Eggman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yama tries to avoid it but Eggman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yama to the ground. Yama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

As Yama tries to get set, Eggman tries to push him back and clinch up but Yama manages to avoid the attempt.

Nice body punch from Eggman - that landed with a thud.

Eggman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Yama tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Eggman smiles and moves away.

Yama stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yama wants it to stay on the feet.
Yama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Eggman has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Yama uses from the top position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Eggman.
Well Eggman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
