Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Benjamin English!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luke Walker!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker tries to land a front kick but English steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
English tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Walker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. English defends it nicely.
Walker tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
English tries to counter by clinching up but Walker breaks away and moves out of range.
Walker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
An attempted straight right counter from English misses the target.
Walker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
English throws a counter high kick but Walker was just alert enough to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walker instigates a clinch.
Walker makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Walker is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. English can't fight it off and eventually Walker manages to take the fight to the floor. English looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Walker works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Walker is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
English is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

English wants to control but Walker is keeping busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Walker slows the pace down in half guard.
English flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Walker drops an elbow to the side of English's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walker is taking a breather. English says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
English is looking to control Walker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can English avoid being mounted?
Walker not doing much here.
Walker is looking to advance position but English won't allow it.
Walker works his way into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
English takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


It looks like Benjamin English has been cut.
The referee warns English that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Walker controlling from mount.
Walker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of English's face.
Walker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sloppy strikes from Walker. Those never looked like landing.

Oh English is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Walker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

English seems to have got his legs back now.
English throws a few strikes from the bottom but Walker takes advantage and mounts!

English wants to control but Walker is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

English has given up his back here.

Walker working for a choke but English reverses nicely into Walker 's guard.
Walker seems keen to control English's posture.
Walker trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Walker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
English could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
English avoids a kick to the body.
English tries to clinch up.

Walker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

English is working to avoid the ground and pound but Walker connects with a decent elbow.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Walker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Walker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Walker drives through and clinches with English against the cage.

English jumps guard and drags Walker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. English swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
English avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Luke Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Walker slaps away a takedown attempt from English, before circling back to the center of the mat.
English slips a jab and a cross from Walker.
Walker throws a low kick but English avoids it.
English stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet.
English blocks a jab.
It looked like English wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker shoots and misses
and English counters with a stiff right hand.
English cracks Walker with an open hand slap.
English keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Benjamin English has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Walker.

Walker dives in and scores a takedown into English's guard.
Walker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Walker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Walker wants to control from the top but English keeps moving.
English not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
English is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Walker dives into side control.

Walker content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Walker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by English, who protects the arm well.
English tries to buck Walker off but Walker is having none of it.
Walker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luke Walker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Walker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
