Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Guerreiro by Curumin. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves dives in and scores a takedown into Shields's guard.

Alves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shields gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shields makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Alves is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Alves is nestled in close to Shields, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Alves slips a nice elbow through Shields's hands, connecting with Shields's forehead.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alves connects with a nice short shot to Shields's temple.
