Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Gouveia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Cinderella Man by Eminem. Mike Gouveia has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chris Li's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouveia swinging wildly here.

Li shoots in looking for a takedown. Gouveia tries to sprawl out of it but Li keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gouveia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Gouveia counters with a three punch combo that has Li backing up. Li nods at Gouveia to acknowledge the strikes.

Mike Gouveia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gouveia wants to slow Li down by chopping away at his legs.
Gouveia looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Gouveia throws the kick towards the body but Li avoids it.

Li tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gouveia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Li darts in looking for a takedown but Gouveia gets double underhooks and turns Li into the cage.

Li keeps control of Gouveia as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Li breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Li dodges the punch combination from Gouveia.
Li checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Li is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Gouveia.

Li lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gouveia circles away quickly and effectively.

Li clinches.

Gouveia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Li, right into the meat.
A combination from Gouveia does no damage.
Li fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Gouveia dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Li tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Li moves into range and clinches up with Gouveia.
Li jumps guard but Gouveia stands there with Li around his waist. Li gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Li tries for a takedown but Gouveia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
