Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eveldas Kapulayavalsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Terrell Davis!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kapulayavalsky works Davis's body with a nice hook.
Kapulayavalsky throws a head kick but Davis moves out of range.
Kapulayavalsky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away.
Kapulayavalsky throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Davis throws a nice looking combination but Kapulayavalsky bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kapulayavalsky.
Davis throws a lazy head kick
and Kapulayavalsky connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kapulayavalsky throws a head kick that misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Kapulayavalsky tries to land a front kick but Davis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Kapulayavalsky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davis.
Davis on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Eveldas Kapulayavalsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kapulayavalsky manages to avoid it.
Kapulayavalsky really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kapulayavalsky gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Davis throws a strike but Kapulayavalsky rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Davis pushes Kapulayavalsky off and gets back to his feet.

Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kapulayavalsky rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Davis gets a clinch.

Kapulayavalsky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kapulayavalsky misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Kapulayavalsky throws a hook to the side of Davis's head but Davis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
No joy there for Kapulayavalsky, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Davis fails to land with a series of punches.
Davis misses with a looping left.
Kapulayavalsky misses with the combination.
Davis misses with a kick to the body.
Davis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kapulayavalsky walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Davis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kapulayavalsky cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kapulayavalsky moves out of range of the body kick from Davis.
Davis motions for Kapulayavalsky to come forward. Davis throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Davis takes a swing at Kapulayavalsky's ribcage but misses.

Davis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Davis tries a head kick but it misses.

Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kapulayavalsky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kapulayavalsky is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Davis has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Davis has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Davis get's back to his feet.
Kapulayavalsky avoids the body shot from Davis.
Danga de danga de dang - Kapulayavalsky scores with a four punch combination!
Kapulayavalsky is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Davis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Kapulayavalsky misses with a takedown attempt
and Davis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Davis lands a nice shot to the body.

Davis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Kapulayavalsky uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Davis.

Kapulayavalsky lands a nice shot that snaps Davis's head back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kapulayavalsky.

Davis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kapulayavalsky's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Terrell Davis will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Davis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Davis throws a lazy right hand but Kapulayavalsky sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good work by Kapulayavalsky as he checks the leg kick.

Davis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kapulayavalsky has escaped the position, nice work there.

Davis goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kapulayavalsky rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Davis's guard! Nice work there by Kapulayavalsky!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davis is on top in guard.

Davis lands a couple of elbows.
Davis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Davis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kapulayavalsky takes a jab right on the kisser.

Davis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Davis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Davis works his way into side control.
Kapulayavalsky is looking to regain half guard here but Davis keeps moving and retains side control.

Davis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kapulayavalsky is trying to escape and Davis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kapulayavalsky is forced to tap! Nice work there by Davis! Very nice indeed!
