Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulse throws a one two combo.
It looks like Hector Davis has been cut.
Ben Pulse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulse looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Pulse misses with a hook.
Davis moves into range and clinches up with Pulse.
Davis lands an elbow just above Pulse 's eye.
Davis gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Pulse takes an elbow to the forehead.
Davis tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Pulse avoids a wild elbow strike from Davis.
Davis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pulse's efforts to push away.

Pulse looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Davis lands a damaging elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis lands an elbow inside that Pulse shrugs off.
Pulse tries a body shot but Davis blocks it.

Davis lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Pulse.
Pulse takes an elbow to the forehead.

Davis lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Davis has picked Pulse up - he's going for a ride! Davis dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Davis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davis connects with a nice short shot to Pulse's temple.

Davis has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Davis lands a nice short elbow.
Davis working over Pulse with some ground and pound. Pulse looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Still in half guard, Davis seems content to control.
Davis moves nicely into side control.

Davis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Davis is working to tighten his grip on Pulse's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pulse has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Davis is really squeezing tight and eventually Pulse passes out! Davis breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Hector Davis bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
