Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Damozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 3, fighting out of London, Frank Damozzi!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubin throws a shot from downtown. Damozzi moves away and avoids it.

Damozzi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rubin darts in looking for a takedown but Damozzi gets double underhooks and turns Rubin into the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Damozzi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Damozzi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've been hearing good reports from Rubin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Timur Rubin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rubin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Damozzi on the side of the head.

Rubin is sitting in close to Damozzi's body. Damozzi has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rubin is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rubin is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Damozzi.

In his post fight interview, Frank Damozzi started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
