Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Ohoro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Ohoro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Park!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ohoro gets a clinch.

Ohoro is trying to trip Park. He has hold of a leg but Park is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ohoro persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ohoro stays in close to Park's body and controls the position.
Park is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Park shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ohoro but Ohoro pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ohoro goes for a double leg but Park avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Park continues to drive forward.

Park manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Ohoro misses with a takedown attempt - Park sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ohoro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Park pinned against the cage. Park gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Park closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ohoro circles away.
Ohoro tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Park defends well and Ohoro ends up having to push Park into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Park tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ohoro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Park somewhat.

Park throws a big counter head kick but Ohoro avoids it with no problem.
Park darts in looking for a takedown but Ohoro gets double underhooks and turns Park into the cage.

Park unleashes a big counter combination but Ohoro bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ohoro shoots in looking for a takedown. Park tries to sprawl out of it but Ohoro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Park manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Ohoro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ohoro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Park looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Park looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Park!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ohoro avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Park.
Ohoro tries to improve position but can't.
Ohoro wants to control but Park postures up.
Park controls the position.
Ohoro is pushing Park's head away, looking to escape. Park manages to hold on to the position though.
Ohoro tries to control but Park manages to take his back.
Park gets his hands free as Ohoro looks to control.
You can see the frustration on Ohoro's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Park is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Ohoro knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Ohoro for a finish.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Park is trying to stick to Ohoro's back but Ohoro is turning into Park. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Park's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ohoro.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ohoro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ohoro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ohoro has Park pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ohoro pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Park tumbling to the mat - Ohoro dives into Park's guard.

Park looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Park is trying to drag Ohoro to the mat but Ohoro just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Park drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ohoro defends it well.
Carl Park is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael Ohoro.
Well Park has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
