Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Waldo Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Lewis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Waldo Boss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boss.
Lewis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boss swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Lewis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Lewis is pressed up against the cage. Boss has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lewis down to the mat. Lewis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Boss shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lewis counters by clinching up.
Lewis landing knees to the body.
Boss tries to stall but Lewis uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boss has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lewis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Boss tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lewis just stands there and leans against the cage.

Boss fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lewis unloads a knee to the mid-section. Boss lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Boss jumps guard but Lewis stands there with Boss around his waist. Boss gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Boss has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lewis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Boss is trying to drag Lewis to the mat but Lewis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Boss has Lewis pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lewis manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Boss is breathing heavily.
Boss goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lewis prevents it.
Lewis lands a knee to the body.

Lewis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Lewis drags the fight down to the ground.
Lewis wants to stand up but Boss is controlling him.
Lewis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Boss dives into side control.

Lewis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Boss has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lewis is looking to get back to his feet here but Boss is keeping cool and he's managed to take Lewis's back.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Lewis is trying to shake Boss off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Boss won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Boss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lewis pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lewis has Boss pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lewis pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boss tumbling to the mat - Lewis dives into Boss's guard.
Lewis wants to stand but Boss has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Boss controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boss is proving hard to escape from.
Boss looking to control.
Lewis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lewis is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Boss has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lewis is looking to defend but Boss has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lewis! Boss pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lewis taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Waldo Boss!
