Redman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Put Your Lights On . Melo has chosen Fireball - Pitbull as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melo looks to score with a jab to the body but Redman is just out of range.
Melo throws a hook to the side of Redman's head but Redman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Redman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Melo throws a big shot that misses.
Redman takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Damien Redman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Redman tries to clinch there but Melo circles away.
Redman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Redman is looking to control Melo's arms but Melo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Redman has his back to the ropes.

Melo jumps guard but Redman turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Redman tries to throw a body punch but Melo avoids it by throwing Redman back against the ropes.
Redman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Redman tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Melo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Melo has picked Redman up - he's going for a ride! Melo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Melo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Melo wants to control but Redman is keeping him busy.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Melo has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Melo looking to break Redman's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Redman remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Melo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

After the fight, Renan Melo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
