Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Heath Marcum!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Washington!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Marcum forces Washington back against the cage and clinches.
Washington jumps guard but Marcum turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Marcum drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Washington gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Marcum turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Marcum manages to end up in side control.

Washington manages to work his way to half guard, despite Marcum's best efforts.

Washington is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Marcum pulls his head out easily.
Washington wants to improve his position but Marcum is controlling well.

Washington might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Marcum haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Marcum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marcum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Washington doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Washington manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Washington content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Marcum has locked up a guillotine! Marcum's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Washington is holding on here and Marcum must be using up a lot of energy. Washington has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Marcum gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
