Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mariano Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maycon Jardim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jardim as he jumps to the side.

Jardim is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Slater throws a strike but Jardim rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Jardim is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Slater is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jardim scores with a couple of nice shots.

Jardim winds up and cracks Slater with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jardim takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jardim is taking a breather. Slater says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jardim closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Slater did well to prevent Jardim getting side control.
Slater might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Slater tries to get to full guard but Jardim has control of the leg.
Jardim is taking a breather. Slater says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jardim has control of Slater's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Slater regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well Jardim has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
