Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Isreal Mayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Curtin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curtin has chosen All the others as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Curtin has closed the distance and engaged Mayer in a clinch.
Curtin is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Curtin avoiding damage.
Curtin wants to break free but Mayer has control.
Mayer wants to stall.
Curtin lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Isreal Mayer has been cut.
Curtin is looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Curtin has Mayer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mayer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A right hook to the body lands for Curtin.

Let's hope that Curtin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mayer manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Mayer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Curtin walks away with a smile on his face. Mayer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Curtin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mayer avoids it really well and circles away.

Mayer shoots in for a double leg but Curtin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mayer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A slapping leg kick lands for Curtin.
Mayer goes for a double leg but Curtin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Curtin continues to drive forward.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Curtin wants to get back to his feet but Mayer drags him back down.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mayer closes the distance and clinches up with Curtin, looking for a takedown. Mayer pushes Curtin against the cage but Curtin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mayer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Curtin tries to avoid it but Mayer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Curtin to the ground. Curtin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mayer keeps the fight on the outside.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mayer circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck for Curtin with that takedown attempt.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Curtin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mayer defends well and Curtin ends up having to push Mayer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mayer drops down looking for a counter takedown but Curtin sprawls and moves away.
Curtin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mayer.

Sam Curtin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Curtin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Sam Curtin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
