Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wiley Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Freitag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freitag has chosen The Prodigy - Poison as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Freitag defends it nicely.
Freitag only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Head feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freitag utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Head could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Head wants to control from the top but Freitag keeps moving.
Freitag wants to stand but Head is controlling the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Head throws an elbow that misses. Freitag uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Head's guard. Nice move by Freitag!

Head can't keep his opponent in guard - Freitag advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Freitag throws a strike but Head avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Head has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Freitag chips away with some ground and pound.
Freitag works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Freitag is looking to stall here but Head recovers full guard.

Freitag is pushing down on Head's leg trying to pass to half guard. Head is fighting to maintain full guard but Freitag has managed to sneak the leg through.
Head on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Freitag connects with a nice short shot to Head's temple.
Freitag looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Head with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Freitag lands a big elbow - Head is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Freitag!
