Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hilario Horn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). West has chosen (A)Tension as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Randy West will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from West.

West clinches up against the cage.
Horn misses with the head strike.
West tries to stall but Horn uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Horn tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and West avoids it.
West can't find room to land a body shot as Horn controls the action.
West has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Horn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
West tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Horn slaps away a takedown attempt from West, before circling back to the center of the mat.
West connects with a high kick.
West fails with the takedown.
West staying out of range there.
West misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
West tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

West gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Hilario Horn will probably get the nod.

Horn tries to score a power double leg takedown but West sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Horn somewhat.
West throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Horn swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Randy West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West tries to clinch there but Horn circles away.
Horn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around West's waist but West gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Horn off to one side.
West shoots for a takedown but Horn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

West keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Horn's efforts to push away.

West throws a punch but it's blocked by Horn.
West is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Horn is keeping busy.
Horn has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
West is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Horn pulls him back up using the underhooks.

West has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Horn uses from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now West is on top in guard.

West wants to get up but he can't break Horn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West is breathing heavily.

West is working for an americana but Horn has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst West was thinking about the submission.

West passes Horn's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Horn tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. West lands a nice short elbow.
Horn tries to roll over but West keeps him under control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
West not landing any meaningful shots this time.
West tries to stand and escape but Horn actually recovers to full guard.
Randy West has got the better of the ground game so far.
West stands and throws Horn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Horn is looking to regain half guard here but West keeps moving and retains side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

West decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Randy West showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

West swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Horn to counter with a crisp jab.
West takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A cross from Horn lands.
West throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Horn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
West misses with a takedown attempt - Horn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
West shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Horn pinned against the cage. Horn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

West manages to break the clinch.
West is looking to land body kicks.
West tries for a takedown but Horn circles away easily
and Horn counters with a straight right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Horn. No joy for West on that attempt.

Horn connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between West's hands.
Horn keeps the fight on the outside.

Horn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into West's guard.

Horn drops back looking for a leg! West is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and West manages to kick Horn off! Horn jumps back into West's guard.
