The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilly throws a right and a left that Carvalho avoids nicely.
Carvalho drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gilly sprawls and moves away.
Gilly scores with a jab to the jaw.

Carvalho misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carvalho lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gilly's sensitive parts.

Carvalho shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gilly napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Carvalho misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Gilly is pushing Carvalho's head away, looking to escape. Carvalho manages to hold on to the position though.

Gilly pushes Carvalho away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Carvalho gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Carvalho goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gilly rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Carvalho's guard! Nice work there by Gilly!

Carvalho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gilly can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gilly stands up from Carvalho's guard - Gilly perhaps looking for a knockout.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Carvalho lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gilly has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gilly and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Gilly looks to throw the jab but Carvalho is out of range.

Carvalho attempts a counter takedown but Gilly avoids it well and moves away.
Carvalho tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gilly defends well and Carvalho ends up having to push Gilly into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Gilly throws a looping overhand right but Carvalho ducks down to avoid it.
Carvalho throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carvalho seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Gilly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gilly misses with a double jab.
Gilly waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Carvalho.
Carvalho closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Carvalho ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gilly looks to throw the jab but Carvalho is out of range.
Gilly takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Carvalho scoring well with a low kick there.
Gilly lands a head shot.
Gilly checks a leg kick.
Gilly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carvalho.
Carvalho throws a lazy head kick
and Gilly scores with a counter punch that sends Carvalho to the canvas! Gilly smells blood - he's punishing Carvalho with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Carvalho has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
