The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior moves away from the strike by Herrera.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Herrera rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Junior moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Herrera lands a nice looking kick to the body. Junior takes a step back to recover.
Herrera throws a nice inside leg kick.
Herrera throws the kick towards the body but Junior avoids it.
Herrera shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Junior as he jumps to the side.
Junior tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Everaldo Junior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Herrera swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Junior misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Junior takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Herrera cracks Junior with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Herrera darts in looking for a takedown but Junior gets double underhooks and turns Herrera into the cage.
Herrera is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Herrera fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Junior.

Herrera gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Herrera connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Junior some visible discomfort.
Junior is looking to reverse the position.

Herrera tries to advance to mount but can't.
Junior is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Herrera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Junior has escaped the position, nice work there.
Junior felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Herrera cracks Junior with a big right hand but Junior just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Herrera misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
