Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandao swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Aoki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Brandao's half guard.
Aoki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brandao's head.
Brandao works his way to full guard. Good work.

Aoki is pushing down on Brandao's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brandao is fighting to maintain full guard but Aoki has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brandao is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Aoki defends well.

Brandao throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Aoki escapes and throws Brandao's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Aoki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brandao keeps working.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Aoki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brandao is looking for a sweep.

Brandao drops an elbow to the side of Aoki 's head.

Aoki has hold of Brandao's hands but Brandao slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Brandao is looking to work some ground and pound but Aoki has wrist control.
Brandao has gone for a leg lock! Aoki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brandao's guard.
Aoki wants to pass the guard but Brandao is keeping the position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brandao as he avoids it easily.
Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown but Brandao manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Aoki 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Diego Brandao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shinya Aoki .
Aoki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brandao.
Aoki closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
