Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eli Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gogo Munjiza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes to the cage accompanied by Jonny Lives! - Get Steady. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eli Simmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gogo Munjiza!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Munjiza has time to react.
Munjiza looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Simmons seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Munjiza clinches up with Simmons and pushes him back against the cage.
Munjiza wants a takedown.
Munjiza has Simmons pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Simmons manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Eli Simmons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gogo Munjiza.

Simmons breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Munjiza tries to clinch up but Simmons circles away and keeps his distance.

Munjiza scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Munjiza is trying to control. Simmons wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Munjiza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simmons keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Simmons stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simmons wants it to stay on the feet.
Simmons cracks Munjiza with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Simmons finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Munjiza throws a sloppy head kick and Simmons moves out of range easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Simmons feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Simmons is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Munjiza is just riding it out for now. Simmons eventually gives up the hold.

Munjiza is looking to stand up but Simmons isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

As Munjiza tries to get set, Simmons tries to push him back and clinch up but Munjiza manages to avoid the attempt.
Munjiza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Simmons defends well and Munjiza ends up having to push Simmons into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Munjiza looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Munjiza wants to control but Simmons is keeping him busy.
Simmons is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Munjiza's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Munjiza's back!

Munjiza is trying to drag Simmons to the mat but Simmons just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Simmons has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Munjiza regains guard immediately.
