Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jason Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tapda Mattus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, White Rabbit. Mattus has chosen My heart as his entrance music. Tapda Mattus has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jason Scott's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapda Mattus!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mattus tries to clinch up but Scott circles away and keeps his distance.
Jason Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mattus wants to counter the offense by Scott and move into the clinch position.
Scott looks for a takedown but Mattus sprawls well.
Scott darts in looking for a takedown but Mattus gets double underhooks and turns Scott into the cage.

Scott tries to keep at a distance but Mattus has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mattus unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Mattus gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Scott regains guard.
Scott is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Kombat MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mattus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Scott is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mattus defends well.

Scott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mattus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mattus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mattus wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott has his foot on Mattus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mattus works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mattus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Scott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mattus defends it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Scott really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mattus works over Scott with some ground and pound from guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Scott is on top in guard.


Mattus throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Scott escapes and throws Mattus's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scott is chipping away with strikes.
Scott scoring with punches and elbows.
Mattus gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Scott is thwarting Mattus's attempts to control the position.
Scott takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Mattus actively working from the bottom here.
Scott looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mattus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mattus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Scott lands a nice short elbow.
Scott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mattus keeps working.
Mattus keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Scott winds up and cracks Mattus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mattus can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mattus is staying active underneath Scott, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Scott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mattus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily.
Scott is trying to control. Mattus wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Scott dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Scott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Scott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Scott scores with a couple of short elbows.
Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mattus is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Scott off and has taken his back!
Scott wants to escape the position.

Mattus lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scott tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Scott is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Scott takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mattus's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tapda Mattus!
Tapda Mattus seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
