PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Drunken Piaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Turbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Turbo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turbo with a hook.
Turbo throws a nice looking combination but Piaso bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Piaso looks for a takedown but Turbo sprawls well.
Turbo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turbo wants it to stay on the feet.
Turbo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Piaso moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Piaso looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Turbo is fending him off so far but Piaso persists. Nope, Turbo circles away and we're back to standing.

Piaso escapes and gets back to his feet.
Turbo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Piaso shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Piaso tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Turbo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Piaso shoots for a double leg takedown but Turbo sprawls well. He's pushed Piaso's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Piaso shoots in looking for a takedown but Turbo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Piaso's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Turbo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Piaso.

Turbo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Piaso to keep the fight standing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Piaso tries to keep at a distance but Turbo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Our sources have told us that Piaso has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Turbo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Piaso wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Piaso decides to stand up, so the ref orders Turbo to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turbo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Piaso swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Turbo jumps guard and drags Piaso to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Piaso seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Piaso thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Turbo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Piaso is aware though and is defending well.
Piaso has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Turbo wants to stand and escape but Piaso is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piaso is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Turbo pushes Piaso off and scrambles back to his feet.
Piaso tries to score a power double leg takedown but Turbo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Piaso somewhat.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Piaso turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Piaso manages to end up in side control.

Turbo explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Piaso darts in looking for a takedown but Turbo gets double underhooks and turns Piaso into the cage.

Dave Turbo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Turbo has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Piaso is on him like a limpet, forcing Turbo back against the cage.

Turbo digs a right hand into Piaso's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Piaso's gas tank.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Turbo enables Piaso to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Turbo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Turbo manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Piaso has gone for a leg lock! Turbo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Piaso's guard.

Well Turbo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
