PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lego Las (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeremy Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lego Las!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Las throws a leg kick which misses Lee's front leg but catches the back leg as Lee tries to avoid it.

Lee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lee just content to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Las pushes Lee away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lee gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Lee postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Las is not content to let Lee control the position.
Las wants to control but Lee postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee tries to advance position but instead Las slips a leg back in to half guard.

Lee seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Las desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Lee keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Las is looking to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Las circles away.

Lee clinches with his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Las breaks the clinch.

Lee looking to score a takedown here. Las is defending well but Lee drives through and ends up in Las's guard.

Lee trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Las manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Las postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lee is looking to stand up but Las isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Las keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Las to the mat! Las manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Las is on top in guard.

Las is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremy Lee dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Las looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lee half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Las moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
Las thows a body kick. Lee tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Las lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Lee shoots in and gets a takedown into Las's guard.
Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Las is retaining full guard.
Jeremy Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lee not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lee has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Las wants to stand but Lee is controlling the position.

Lee looking to sit in guard and control but Las gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Las defends it easily.
Las wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Las tries to stand but Lee is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Las trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Las is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Las circles away and we're back to standing.

Las clinches.
Lee is trying to break free.

Las escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee dives in for a single leg takedown but Las sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Las tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it.
Las stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Las wants it to stay on the feet.
Las lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Las moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
Las shoots for a takedown but Lee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Las throws a combination. Lee tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Las.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Las tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Las lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Las.

Lee gets a clinch.
Lee tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Las smiles and moves away.
No luck for Lee with that takedown attempt.

Las fails with a takedown attempt.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Las tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Las to the ground. Las escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Las has closed the distance and engaged Lee in a clinch.
Las is trying to drag Lee to the mat but Lee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Las has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Las walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lee gets a double leg takedown into Las's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lego Las showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Lee steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Las. That one must have hurt.
Las tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lee scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Las sneaks back into half guard.
Las is trying to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Las is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lee missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Lee is working for a kimura but Las is defending it quite comfortably.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lee shoots in looking for a takedown. Las tries to sprawl out of it but Lee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Las manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lee looks for a takedown but Las sprawls well.

Las has taken the fight to the clinch.

Las breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Las tries to clinch up.
Las swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee shoots in but Las avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Las scores with a hook to the body. Lee takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Las has taken the fight to the clinch.

Las breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lee drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Las looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Las wriggles free and stands up.
Lee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Las sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Las lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lee takes a step back to recover.
Lee has a takedown stuffed.
Las uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Las bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Las is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Las counters with a series of strikes. Lee will be more careful next time no doubt.
Jeremy Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Las avoids it really well and circles away.
Both fighters circling a little - Las finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Las throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.
Las keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Las shoots for a takedown but Lee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Las scores with a head kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lee or perhaps it was just good defense by Las, which made it look bad.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lego Las comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Las has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
