Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Fernando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mihkel Voronkov Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mihkel Voronkov Jr is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fernando throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Voronkov Jr was covering up waiting for the punch and Fernando finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fernando scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Voronkov Jr wants to control but Fernando passes easily into half guard.
Fernando will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Voronkov Jr wants to get back to full guard.
Voronkov Jr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fernando is working away from the top position though.

Voronkov Jr misses the shot to the body.
Fernando changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Horrible takedown attempt by Voronkov Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Fernando, which made it look bad.

Fernando tries to land knees in the clinch but Voronkov Jr avoids the damage to the body.

Mark Fernando has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mihkel Voronkov Jr.

Fernando has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Voronkov Jr regains guard immediately.

Fernando has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Voronkov Jr is proving hard to escape from.
Fernando's corner is telling him to maintain position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fernando wants to stand but Voronkov Jr has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Fernando drops back looking for a leg! Voronkov Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Voronkov Jr manages to kick Fernando off! Fernando jumps back into Voronkov Jr's guard.
Voronkov Jr can't keep his opponent in guard - Fernando advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fernando looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
