The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyperion takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Metsola looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Hyperion misses with a right hand

and Metsola counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hyperion is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Hyperion looking for subs off his back but Metsola has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hyperion is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Metsola wants to control but Hyperion is keeping him busy.
Hyperion is doing well to control the position and prevent Metsola from advancing to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

We've been hearing reports that Metsola has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hyperion lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hyperion connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hyperion scores with a hook to the body. Metsola takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The crowd cheers as Hyperion lands an impressive looking overhand right. Metsola doesn't seem phased though.

Metsola drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Hyperion misses with an uppercut.
Hyperion throws the left hand but Metsola avoids the punch easily.
Hyperion closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Metsola! Hyperion dives in looking to finish! Metsola is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
