Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Bergen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wrestlin Randy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Bergen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Bergen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wrestlin Randy!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bergen doesn't manage to clinch there - Randy circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bergen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Randy.
Randy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bergen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bergen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Randy.
Randy goes for a takedown attempt but Bergen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
James Bergen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wrestlin Randy.

Bergen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Randy, pushing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bergen misses with a hook to the ribs.
Randy is trying to drag Bergen to the mat but Bergen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bergen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bergen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bergen shoots in for a takedown but Randy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bergen is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Randy has picked Bergen up - he's going for a ride! Randy dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Bergen is trying to stand.
Randy tries to pass to full mount but Bergen defends it.
Bergen regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bergen controls Randy momentarily but Randy frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Randy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bergen's guard.
Bergen is pressing down on Randy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Bergen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bergen looking for a sweep. Not yet Bergen, not yet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bergen forces Randy back against the cage and clinches.

Randy is trying to trip Bergen. He has hold of a leg but Bergen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Randy persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Bergen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Randy advances position into side control!
Randy works to advance to full mount. Bergen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Bergen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Randy is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bergen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bergen!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bergen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Randy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bergen has managed to get both his arms back between Randy's legs - danger averted.
Bergen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bergen wants to get up but he can't break Randy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bergen trying to control the position from guard on top but Randy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wrestlin Randy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Randy shoots in for a takedown but Bergen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
James Bergen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bergen stuffs the takedown attempt from Randy. Randy gets slowly back to his feet.
Bergen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bergen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Randy swivels and escapes.
As Bergen backs off Randy throws a huge counter combo but Bergen manages to avoid it all.
Bergen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Randy.
James Bergen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wrestlin Randy.
Bergen is looking to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Randy. No joy for Bergen on that attempt.
It seemed like Randy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Randy is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bergen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Randy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bergen somewhat.
Randy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bergen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Randy shoots in and bounces Bergen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bergen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Randy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Randy working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Bergen wants to stand but Randy is controlling the position.

Randy tries to free his leg and advance position but Bergen is retaining full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Randy feints and as Bergen raises his hands in defense, Randy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Randy wants to pass the guard but Bergen is keeping the position.

Randy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Randy is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bergen!

Randy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bergen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bergen has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Bergen trying to get back to his feet but Randy is in full control for now.
Randy is not going to allow Bergen to sit and survive in this position.

Randy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bergen has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Randy looking to break Bergen's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bergen remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Randy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Wrestlin Randy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

As Bergen backs off Randy throws a huge counter combo but Bergen manages to avoid it all.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Randy shoots in and gets a takedown into Bergen's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bergen is on top in guard.

Bergen postures up in Randy's guard and throws a big left but Randy blocks it.
Bergen chips away with some ground and pound.

Bergen wants to control from the top but Randy keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Randy is looking for a triangle here but Bergen uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Bergen advances to full mount.

Randy tries to improve his position but Bergen has taken his back! Bergen has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Randy tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Bergen pushes Randy away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). James Bergen!
