Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vin Seppala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stephen Grogan!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grogan gets caught flat footed, as Seppala shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Grogan looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grogan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Seppala stays in close to Grogan's body and controls the position.
Seppala trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Seppala stops Grogan from standing up.
Grogan working a defensive guard but Seppala passes into half guard.

Seppala is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Grogan is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grogan is trying to stand up here but Seppala is controlling him well.
Grogan is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Grogan is looking for a sweep. Seppala is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seppala works his foot free and advances to mount.

Seppala wants to finish this one by submission but Grogan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Seppala.
Seppala is breathing heavily.
Seppala avoids the attempt from Grogan to control.
Grogan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Seppala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grogan in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Seppala tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Grogan tries to improve his position but Seppala has taken his back! Seppala has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Grogan tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Seppala pushes Grogan away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
