PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Modesto Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam comes into a darkened arena with his song building. COCO kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Modesto Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Adam!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Adam.
Adam misses with a takedown

and Morgan counters with a single leg into guard. Adam didn't expect that.
Adam wants to stand and escape but Morgan is having none of it.
Morgan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Adam lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Adam throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Adam controls Morgan momentarily but Morgan frees himself.

Adam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morgan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Adam tries to clinch but Morgan is having none of it.
Adam just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromMorgan.

A frustrated look appears on Morgan's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Morgan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Adam shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Modesto Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Adam.
Morgan throws a head kick but Adam moves out of range.
Adam lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Adam tries a head kick but it misses.
No joy there for Morgan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Morgan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Adam looking for a sweep but Morgan has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Morgan breaks from Adam's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Adam wants to control but Morgan is having none of it.
Morgan lands a couple of good shots and Adam has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Adam prevents Morgan from getting a body triangle.

Morgan keeps control of the position as Adam tries to break free.
Morgan is not going to allow Adam to sit and survive in this position.
Adam tries to escape the position.
Adam trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Morgan punches Adam on the ear.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Morgan is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Adam is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Adam looks winded!
Adam trying to control the action but Morgan just sinks the hooks in.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
