Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hans Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tearzo Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Kirby drives through with a takedown into Roberts's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Kirby seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Roberts is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kirby pulls Roberts in close to his closed guard and prevents Roberts from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Roberts sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kirby's guard.
Kirby is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kirby wants to work for an arm triangle but Roberts is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kirby fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roberts, pushing him back against the cage.

Kirby is trying to trip Roberts. He has hold of a leg but Roberts is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kirby persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Kirby is really struggling to control Roberts but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Kirby throws a strike but Roberts rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Roberts slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hans Kirby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Roberts passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roberts is looking to stand up but Kirby isn't so interested in that idea.
Kirby throws an elbow that misses. Roberts uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kirby's guard. Nice move by Roberts!

Kirby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Roberts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kirby swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Roberts pushes down on Kirby's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Roberts in particular looking to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
