Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrell Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Kais!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kais wants to clinch.
Kais misses with a lunging right hand

and Solomon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kais working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Solomon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Solomon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Solomon throws a big elbow that misses.
Solomon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kais is proving hard to escape from.

Kais is looking for a triangle but Solomon pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kais is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Solomon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kais works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Solomon postures up in Kais's guard and throws a big left but Kais blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kais is trying to keep Solomon in close.
Solomon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Solomon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kais looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Solomon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Kais is looking to improve his position.
Solomon not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Solomon slows the pace down in half guard.
Kais moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Solomon is sitting in close to Kais's body. Kais has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Solomon is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Solomon is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kais.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kenny Kais!
Kenny Kais decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
