Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Fisherman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronnie Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared Fisherman!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ball moves into the clinch successfully.
Ball really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ball jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fisherman walks away with a smile on his face. Ball gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ball misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fisherman feints and as Ball raises his hands in defense, Fisherman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ball wants to hit a switch here but Fisherman passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ball there!
Ball is trying desperately to improve position.
Ball tries to buck Fisherman off but he can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ball tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fisherman controlling his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fisherman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ball is surviving well by controlling Fisherman's body position as best he can.
Ball regains half guard.
Fisherman prevents Ball from improving his position.
Fisherman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ball is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ball is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ball is in trouble now - Fisherman has advanced to mount!
Ball working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fisherman lands a heavy elbow.
Fisherman landing strikes from the mount and Ball is in trouble!

Fisherman is working for a guillotine from mount but Ball frees his head quite easily.
Fisherman looks winded!
Ball is in a horrible position here. Fisherman smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Ball is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Fisherman tries to control but Ball wriggling away.
Ball is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fisherman controlling his opponent.
Ball is trying to escape the mount.
Fisherman with the ground and pound from mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ball is trying to stand up.
Fisherman looking to control but Ball is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jared Fisherman dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jared Fisherman's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Fisherman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ball is trying to improve his position.
Ball wants to get back to his feet.
Ball is looking to regain half guard here but Fisherman keeps moving and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ball wants to get back to his feet but Fisherman is dominant here and he's now got Ball's back!
Ball prevents Fisherman from getting a body triangle.
I really don't envy Ball right now.

Ball defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Fisherman is breathing heavily.

Fisherman is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ball is defending well though. Fisherman let's go of the attempt for now.

Fisherman is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ball defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Fisherman is hanging on to Ball's back as he tries to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ball turns into Fisherman and is now in his guard.

Ball gets to his feet. Fisherman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ball throws a leg kick which misses Fisherman's front leg but catches the back leg as Fisherman tries to avoid it.

Fisherman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ball's guard.

Ball looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Fisherman has picked Ball up and slammed him! Ball can't keep hold of the triangle and Fisherman manages to pass to side control!
Ball gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ball makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ball.

Ball looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Fisherman trying to control but Ball is working from the bottom.

Ball throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Ball working for a triangle but Fisherman defends it easily.
Fisherman pushing down on Ball's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fisherman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ball is looking for a sweep. Fisherman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ball trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ball is desperately trying to improve his position but Fisherman has a good base and remains in mount.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jared Fisherman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Fisherman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ball manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fisherman manages to get himself to full guard.

Ball is working Fisherman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fisherman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ball defends well.

Fisherman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ball would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fisherman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ball accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fisherman is trying to control the position but Ball postures up.
Ball postures up in Fisherman's guard and throws a big left but Fisherman blocks it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ball throws a chopping leg kick but Fisherman manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ball works the jab nicely.
Ball's jab looks to have found its range, popping Fisherman under the eye.

Fisherman shoots in and bounces Ball off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Fisherman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ball has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fisherman has managed to get both his arms back between Ball's legs - danger averted.
Ball wants to sweep here but Fisherman controlling him for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fisherman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fisherman looking to sit in guard and control but Ball gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ball won't allow Fisherman to sweep him here.
Fisherman keeping moving, preventing Ball from controlling successfully.
Ball is looking to work some ground and pound but Fisherman has wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ball wants to stand but Fisherman is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fisherman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ball is controlling him.
Ball slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Fisherman.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ball stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Fisherman to get to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ronnie Ball showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fisherman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
