Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andre Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Brawler!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brawler scores a takedown into full mount!
Brawler looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Brawler postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wells looks a forlorn figure.


It looks like Andre Wells has been cut.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Brawler throws a wild left hand from mount and Wells manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wells is trying to maintain the position but Brawler is very close to passing his half guard.
Wells works his way to full guard. Good work.
Brawler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wells is keeping the position for now.
Wells is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wells passes the guard and advances to mount!
Brawler wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Brawler is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wells unloads with some shots from mount but Brawler bucks and avoids them well.

Wells is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Brawler is surviving well by controlling Wells's body position as best he can.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Brawler avoids a series of strikes thrown by Wells.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wells is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brawler can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Brawler is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wells looking for a guillotine from mount but Brawler is having none of it.

Wells working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Wells looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brawler is looking to improve his position but Wells isn't that keen on the idea.

Wells jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brawler manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Brawler is looking to regain half guard here but Wells keeps moving and retains side control.
Brawler sneaks back into half guard.
Brawler landing rabbit punches to the side of Wells's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wells is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Brawler has managed to free his arm - good work.
Wells blocks the strikes from Brawler.
Brawler has a hand on Wells's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Wells takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Wells has hold of Brawler's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brawler manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brawler is trying to escape the mount.

Wells quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Wells but it's paid off an Brawler is forced to tap! Nice work by Wells.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Andre Wells!
