Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanders comes to the cage accompanied by I Have a Dream. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sanders has his takedown stuffed

and Dos Santos counters by clinching up.
Sanders drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dos Santos is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sanders is defending well.
Sanders drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dos Santos pulls his leg out and moves away.

Sanders rushes Dos Santos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dos Santos is working for takedown but Sanders is calmly controlling the position for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dos Santos wants to improve his position but Sanders is controlling well.
Dos Santos told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Sanders has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sanders thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dos Santos tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Sanders throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Sanders is taking a breather. Dos Santos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sanders slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
